Steaming and Scrubbing in a Hammam
"Allow yourself To Luxuriate!"
PHILOSOPHY BEHIND – TURKEY'S HAMMAM
We spend all our life saving for our future and end up not enjoying our lives at all. Little pleasures are something we all deserve and should indulge in to keep us going through life.
WHY AND HOW 'HAMMAM' IS CELEBRATED ?
Turkish hammams are an integral part of the culture of Turkey. Inspired by roman traditions, Turkish hammams are similar to sauna, but with a traditional touch. People visit hammams once a week to clean up and for relaxation. With a long routine starting from sitting in a hot room to cleaning up and ending with a massage and a cold bath, the Turkish baths are a very popular and relaxing ritual in Turkey.
The ancient times had the tradition of public baths wherein people would come to clean up themselves and relax as well. With time the concept of private baths has evolved but the Turkish hammams are still one of the most visited public places in Turkey. Starting with heating up in hot dry air, followed by cleaning and massage by a professional and ending up with a cold shower to relax and cool down, the Turkish baths are a luxurious indulgence that can rejuvenate you completely.
