Celebration of Happiness (38) – Carnival (Brazil)

"Shut Down Business As Usual And Go A Bit Wild!"

Life is a celebration and one who forgets to enjoy and make merry will leave out on how life should be lived. Work is important, but happiness and living life to the fullest are the essentials of a good life too.

The carnival in Brazil is one of the most popular and the most grand carnival in the world. The carnival is celebrated 51 days before Easter when people shut down their businesses and become a part of a 5 day long party in the streets of the city of Rio De Janeiro. Unending music, dance, bands and merry making are what comprise the carnival and people from all over the world fly to Rio to enjoy this world famous event.

The carnival officially starts on Friday and ends on Fat Tuesday with the beginning of Lent on Ash Wednesday. People are supposed to abstain from all bodily pleasure after that, which is why during the carnival people go all out, forget the rules and party like there is no tomorrow. Day and night for five days, the carnival goes on and brings people together on the streets for merry making which usually falls in the month of February, the hottest month in the southern hemisphere. It is a euphoric event where people sing, dance, party and have an overdose of fun.

Let Loose!

Memories of good times and good experiences are all that will stay, everything else will become meaningless when the time comes. So make time for these memories to happen. Each year, spare some time out for some relaxation. Go out with friends and indulge in gaining an experience. Life is too short to be boring.
