WHY AND HOW 'MARDI GRAS (FAT TUESDAY)' IS CELEBRATED ?
Mardi Gras is one of the biggest festivals celebrated in the USA with different places having different ways of celebrating the last day before the month of Lenten starts. Festivities, music, dancing, alcohol and colors – all that describe happiness comes together in the form of a carnival where people immerse themselves in celebrations and merry making and welcome the onset of the month of Lenten in which they refrain from any entertainment or luxuries.
The month of lent is the month of sacrifice which the people of New Orleans welcome with a grand carnival full of festivities and celebrations. Masks, costumes, parades and music are essentials of the festival that occurs on the Tuesday before the month of lent, which historically is the last day for the people to eat fatty, rich and extravagant meals, hence the name Fat Tuesday. People celebrate this day by adorning masks and colorful costumes, indulge in alcohol and other sinful celebrations and make for for the pious month to grace their lives and their hearts.
IMPLEMENTATION OF 'MARDI GRAS (FAT TUESDAY)' IN OUR DAILY LIFE
Do what gives you happiness and becomes your own. Each day, promise yourself to do at least one thing that is solely you. Be it adorning a funny scarf, dancing to yourself or merely counting stars, make it your own thing and fill your heart with the satisfaction it gives.
